If the rollers had a way to instantly stop them, all it would do it stop the rider. He wouldn’t go flying off or something cool like that. The only momentum he built up is the weight of the tires and crank shaft turning.
Same on a treadmill, I’ve had them bind up and stop then go instantly, it seems like I would have went flying off, but it just made running super awkward.

hot damn… you know if the US invested some more resources into academies and schools for aspiring young racers (instead of the thousands of basketball and football camps we have now) we might see more Americans making it to the top of the podium. The majority of Europe and now frickin’ Japan and China and Russia and a ton of other countries have better programs.. and guess who gets the gold come London 2012? Just saying.
